2006 Landscapes One Year Later

I spend quite a lot of time ensuring the plants have the best soil that I can find and that there is the proper amount of moisture and nutrients for future growth. Usually some of my highest costs are because I won't skimp on soil and I always spend the extra time needed to make sure the plants are planted correctly. Well, now I have the proof of how important proper soil is and how imperative foundation is to amazing success in the garden.

Their initial design was fairly bland with a row of rocks and a row of junipers sprinkled with one kind of alpine plant.

Breath taking, the garden was immaculate, the flowers started in April and never stopped until October. When I stopped by to take pictures I had to apologize for all the work they must be doing. Said no they never work more than 10 minutes a day.

Once all the plants grew to the size they were suppose to all of the rock placements then came into alignment

Must say one of my favourite gardens

My Favourite Clients with almost no gardening experience

Low Maintenance 06

Initially they had a garden of goutweed, quackgrass and thistle but they didn't find that it was as colourful as they had hoped

One of the most difficult areas to grow plants is along the house foundation where the sun bakes the plants. With good soil, mulching and the right plants you can transform anything

The most appealing thing about a garden is that it visually captivates you and then draws you in. Hopefully encourages you to grab a glass of wine and stay awhile.

Something I see a lot is as the yard grows the clients instantaneously turn into amazing gardeners. Initially I am told they will go outside once a month tops but whenever I pop in the next year there they are weeding, deadheading and fluffing soil.

Here you can see the importance of perennials as the shrubs are taking a little longer to grow and fill out.
