Links
to
my
Favourite
websites
The links are broken into two different groups. The
first is Landscape material links, which are business websites that showcase
different materials on sale or in production for the prairie garden. The
second set is a Garden Information link. All these links are helpful in providing information on
gardening or on plants.
Click on the green underlined title.
 | Landscape Suppliers
 | Canar Landscape Supplies A
company in Edmonton, Alberta that can ship across Alberta and has
shipped across the country to the Maritimes. They specialize in
gravels, rocks, pavers, and retaining wall blocks. What is also
important is that they update there product lines and are
continually adding new products from Canada and overseas. Their
links section brings you to some of the major suppliers as well. |
 | Expocrete This
is a major producer of brick and retaining wall blocks. They have an
amazing site with pictures and dimensions of what they produce. They
do not sell to homeowners. But their products are sold by all major
retailers across the prairies and into British Columbia |
 | Westcon
Precast is an excellent producer of innovative cement products. They
are positioning themselves in the higher end products with high
quality and naturalistic designs. Many of their products are
available at Canar and other Landscape suppliers. When designing
brick or block patios I generally have their products in mind. |
 | North Edmonton Landscape supplies is one of my favourite gravel
and soil supply houses. They are the only place that I would buy my
soil from and they truly have the best Garden Soil mixes available.

 | Garden Information
 | I can Garden
Website Probably one of the larger websites devoted to gardening
in Canada let alone on the prairies. Filled with information about
organizations, pictures, events and, of course, gardens and
gardening. |
 | Greenland
Garden Centre (Sherwood Park) This nursery has a huge collection
of perennials and exotic trees and shrubs. In the last couple of
years their display house changes through the season with a huge
Christmas and spring display. |
 | Holes Greenhouse (St.
Albert) Not a great site. It is mainly set up for on-line shopping.
But Holes is the largest greenhouse for the retail market. If you
are looking for the rarest anything you will generally find it at
Holes. There baskets, and plant material in general, are spectacular
just don't forget the credit cards though. |
 | The Edmonton Horticulture
Society The society has around ten meetings each year that cover
all kinds of topics. They have an informative publication as well as
numerous events through out the year. |
