Gypsophila paniculata - Baby's Breath

Caryophyllaceae

Preferences:

This is a European perennial that prefers full sun and is adaptive to all soils. Well drained soil is best and you will find that it is big and a bit weedy. Usually called Baby Barf because of the bad smell.

Cultural Practices:

Propagation - sow seeds at 21 - 27 degrees for up to 30 days.

Cultural - I find this plant does not like to be transplanted so place carefully. Excellent for flower arrangements although I prefer the larger baby breath like flowers of sneezewort (Alchemilla ptarmica 'The Pearl'

Landscape Value:

Other plants Gypsophila repens - Creeping Baby's Breath - is a very low ground cover that is excellent in the garden
